Phenylalanine is one of the eight essential amino acids required in any diet. Phenylalanine occurs naturally in two forms: L-phenylalanine present in the bulk of dietary protein and the D-phenylalanine in bacteria and plant tissues. The D form is converted slowly in the L shape in the body, then being metabolized. This nutritional supplement is a racemic mixture of both. DLPA stimulates the activity of endorphins; substances found naturally in the human body and which have an analgesic activity, while its effectiveness without causing prolonged side effects. TABLET COMPOSITION: DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA), 500 mg. EXCIPIENTES: microcrystalline cellulose, acacia, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate. DIRECTIONS: One tablet in adults and children over 12 years, fifteen minutes before each meal (up to three tablets a day). In prolonged treatment, taking a single tablet per day. CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS: People with phenylketonuria should not take DLPA. Phenylalanine can not be eaten by people who are undergoing treatment with drugs that inhibit monoamine oxidase (MAO). Should not be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Neither administration to people with diabetes or high blood pressure is recommended.
