This is a formula of glucosamine and chondroitin high power, which also provides powerful amounts of other nutrients considered useful for joint care. Each ingredient is selected based on their different but complementary functions.
Glucosamine is an element that the body needs to synthesize glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), structural polysaccharides that form much of the intercellular matrix of connective tissue, epithelial and bone, as well as in the intercellular medium.
Under normal circumstances the body synthesizes glucosamine all we need, but during aging synthesize the body no longer enough to keep the cartilage in good condition, giving possible step to osteoarthritis.
Chondroitin sulfate is an important component of most tissues of vertebrates and invertebrates, and is present mainly in those having a large extracellular matrix, forming as the connective tissues of the body, cartilage, skin, blood vessels, and such as ligaments and tendons.
Three tablets of this formula Lamberts® provide a total of 1500 mg of glucosamine sulfate (the amount used in many studies) along with 300 mg of chondroitin sulfate and 150 mg of MSM per daily dose. The potent bioflavonoid quercetin is added in an amount of 60 mg, 1200 mg of ginger more (as a concentrated extract), along with 400 mg of rose-hip extract.
It is worth noting that it is common to find chondroitin preparations with only 20% of chondroitin, but with a declared on the label as if furnish 100% amount. For this reason, supplements to state that provide 400mg of chondroitin sulfate, often only provide 80 mg. However, Lamberts Glucosamine Complete contains 330 mg of a preparation 90% of chondroitin, giving 300 mg of pure chondroitin (3 tablets).
