Contains 150 mg of R(+)-lipoic acid per capsule. Most alpha lipoic acid dietary supplements are a 50/50 mixture of natural R(+) lipoic acid and synthetic S(-)-lipoic acid; this mixture is called a "racemic mixture" or "racemate." In some cases S(-)-lipoic acid is simply less effective than R(+)-lipoic acid, but in other cases, the S(-)-lipoic form works actually in opposition to the activity of R(+)-lipoic acid.

Posology:
